A Short Simple History of Bitcoin Core/Bitcoin Cash. Please correct any mistakes. Just looking to make as simple as possible list of how we got here.

Bitcoin history

  2. Published the idea on the Internet
  3. Satoshi, Gavin Andresen, & Mike Hearn, developed a GitHub repo.
  4. Satoshi disappeared, Gavin Andresen invited Greg Maxwell and "Wladimir Van Der Laan" (the current primary controller of the Core repo) into the bitcoin core project.
  5. Gavin Andersen got ejected from project (reasons unknown) and Mike Hearn quit project.
  6. Bitcoin Core project now controlled by Greg Maxwell and "Wladimir Van Der Laan/
  7. A random group of developers united and improved the code.
  8. ONE OF THE DECISIONS OF RANDOM INITIAL GROUP WAS TO MAKE 1 MB BLOCKSIZE???
  9. the random group of developers distributed the code to a larger group of developers , {the initial miners}
  10. initial miners exchanged, coins with themselves, gamers, other highly computer literate people.
  11. random semi-knowledgeable people here about bitcoin and instantly dismiss as magic internet money {I am in this group}
  12. Bitcoin use rises because of the "Dark Net", increase in usage leads to increase in value.
  13. Media starts reporting; value increasing and big silk road shut down; more people start buying because they heard of it.
  14. Regular schmo looks at the growth chart and moves 10% of assets into bitcoin (because why not) {I am in this group}.
  15. Transaction fees sky rocket because of more demand then group from step 7 had planned for.
The schism occurs
Questions:
{ WHY THE FORK, WHY NOT JUST INCREASE BIT SIZE?}:
{ WAS THE 1MB BLOCKSIZE A PART OF SATOSHI'S ORIGINAL WHITE PAPER?}
